A Summer Of Enough

There’s a version of summer that feels full in all the right ways.

And then there’s the version that feels… like too much.

Too many decisions.
Too much to figure out.
Too many moments where you find yourself asking...
what are we doing today? what are we eating? what comes next?

I’ve lived through both.

And it only takes one summer of completely winging it
to realize… there has to be a better way.

Not a stricter way.
Not a more structured, color-coded, every-hour-accounted-for way.

Just… a more supportive one.

I think somewhere along the way,
summer started to feel like something we had to rise to.

Like it needed to be full of plans, experiences, variety...
Something worth remembering in a very specific kind of way.

But I’ve been sitting with a quieter truth:

Meaning doesn’t come from doing the most.

It comes from being supported in what we’re already doing.

This year, I’m approaching summer differently.

Not with a long list of things to accomplish
or a schedule to maintain...

but with a few intentional shifts.

A rhythm for our days
so I’m not starting from scratch every morning.

Meals that are simple, familiar, and easy to prepare
so nourishment doesn’t become a constant mental load.

A loose playbook of things we can lean into
when we want the day to feel good,
without overplanning it.

Small adjustments at home
so our space moves with us instead of working against us.

Nothing excessive.

Just thoughtful.

Because I’ve realized something I can’t unsee:

So much of what makes a season feel good
has nothing to do with how much we add to it...

and everything to do with how supported we feel inside of it.

There is ease in knowing what’s for dinner.
There is peace in having a rhythm to return to.
There is joy in a day that unfolds without pressure.

And none of that requires more effort.

Just a different approach.

“What makes a season feel good isn’t how much we add... it’s how supported we feel inside of it..”

This summer, I’m not trying to create perfect days.

I’m creating ones that feel livable.

Days where we eat well, without overthinking it.
Days where we move, explore, and rest, without forcing it.
Days that feel full… because they’re not overfilled.

I’m letting go of the idea
that more effort equals more meaning.

I’m choosing simple meals.
Repeatable rhythms.
Small, steady moments.

And trusting that this,
this quiet, intentional way of moving through the season...

IS more than enough.

A Summer Of Enough

Not a guide to doing more... but a reflection on creating a summer that actually feels good to live in.
